Seattle

Talk about a foodie town! Seattle has so many good places to check out. We lived here for ten months so we didn't get to explore everywhere, but we enjoyed our views of Mt. Rainier when it was clear enough.

Bakeries

Bakery Nouveau
The best chocolate almond croissant in the city. You'll be happy with anything here.

Dahlia Bakery
Popular bakery in Seattle. Most of the food is pretty good, but not great. The exception: chocolate cookie tart. Unfortunately, it is seasonal.

La Parisienne
Great place to pick up bread and pastries.

Cupcake Royale
This is what cupcakes should taste like. They also have ice cream if you are into that sort of thing.

Nielsen's Pastries
Great Danish pastries that are packed with flavor. Be sure to pick up a Snitter or Kringle.

Le Reve Bakery
Please do yourself a favor and go here and purchase a kouign amann. It is the best kouign amann I've ever had. The other pastries are excellent too.

Chocolatiers

Intrigue Chocolate Co.
One of the many good chocolatiers in Seattle.

Chocolopolis
Another excellent location to get your chocolate fix.

Restaurants

Marination Ma Kai
Great view of the city and great Hawaiian-Korean fusion. I wish we got to go back here a few more times.

Salumi
One of the best sandwiches of my life. It a small family owned restaurant that usually has a line out the door. It is well worth that line.

Sushi Kashiba
I'm pretty sure this is the best sushi in America. My advice: do omakase and eat whatever the chef puts in front of you.

Marination
A fast food Hawaiian restaurant that is a great option if you need something nearby.

Lunchbox Laboratory
Probably the best burger in Seattle. Right next to the REI's Seattle Flagship store.

Paseo Caribbean Food
No Seattle restaurant list is complete without Paseo. Right up there with Salumi as one of the best sandwiches I've ever had.

Blueacre Seafood
I don't remember the food as much as I remember the chocolate pecan pie, but both were delecious.

Activities

Cinerama
If you are looking to catch a movie this is a great location. Owned and renovated by Paul Allen. Reserved seating and chocolate popcorn. Need I say more?

Pike Place Market
You've seen the name in Starbucks and if you haven't been yourself, you should definitely go. Great to walk around and see all the shops and maybe see some flying fish or the gum wall.

Chihuly Garden and Glass
My favorite artist. Great glass work and a few paintings. You can get a double pass to go here and the Space Needle.

Space Needle
Iconic location that provides a nice view of the city.
